AGM Wrap-up

HTAV members convened on Friday 19 April at the Victorian Archives Centre for the 2024 HTAV Annual General Meeting and Awards Ceremony. HTAV members, Directors (past, present and incoming), HTAV Patron Emeritus Professor Peter McPhee AM, staff and special guests celebrated the great work the HTAV Board carry out under leadership that puts strong governance and the needs of members at the forefront.

As part of the AGM, HTAV elected its 2024–25 Board of Directors:

We thank our outgoing directors, Ann Guns and Alana Ryan who fulfilled their board duties with grace and professionalism. Ashley Keith Pratt, who completed his terms as President at the AGM, has been dedicated, well-informed and supportive of directors and staff. We look forward to working with newly appointed President, Elisa Litvin along with all of our 2024 Directors and Patron. Thank you to all.

Also at the AGM, HTAV celebrated the 2024 HTAV Award winners. Their commitment to excellence in History teaching enriches our profession and community immensely.

Additionally, the National History Challenge for 2024 was launched, introducing this year's theme, Crisis and Response. History teachers are encouraged to register their schools online to receive a no-obligation welcome kit for the National History Challenge here. The closing date for submissions is 23 August 2024.

The HTAV event concluded with an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of the Public Record Office Victoria and the National Archives of Australia, where attendees had the unique opportunity to view significant and historic primary source materials. Heartfelt thanks to the team at the Victorian Archives Centre for their exceptional hospitality and efforts which made this such a memorable event for the HTAV community.
